Pre-booked transfers NZD 65-110 — competitive with taxi but with meet-and-greet, English driver, flight tracking. For Devonport, Waiheke Island ferry connections, or Northern Beaches arrivals: pre-book strongly recommended (multi-leg journeys with luggage are painful).

Why is there no train from Auckland Airport?+
Auckland's rail network never reached the airport (last extended in the 1960s before AKL's current site). A SkyPath rail proposal has been studied since 2010 but never funded. The current SkyDrive bus is the de facto rail substitute. Status: rail link planned for 2028+ but timeline uncertain. Until then: bus, taxi, Uber, or pre-booked transfer.
Auckland early-morning arrivals — what runs?+
AKL receives most long-haul (UA from LAX, Air NZ from EU/Asia) between 04:00-06:00. SkyDrive bus starts 06:30, Uber generally available 04:00+, taxis always available. For arrivals before 06:30: pre-book transfer to guarantee pickup, or wait for the first SkyDrive bus (free coffee at the arrivals café).
Waiheke Island from Auckland Airport?+
Direct: AKL→Downtown Ferry Terminal (~30 min by transfer/Uber, NZD 65-85) + Fullers ferry to Waiheke (~40 min, NZD 25 return). Total ~70 min + NZD 90-110.
