How to Get from Mumbai Airport to Mumbai City

The prepaid taxi counter inside the arrivals hall is the safest and most transparent way to get a taxi — you pay a fixed rate upfront at the counter, receive a voucher, and hand it to the driver at the end. No haggling, no meter disputes.

1. Go to the Prepaid Taxi Counter in the arrivals hall (both T1 and T2).
2. State your destination — the counter will quote a fixed fare.
3. Pay at the counter and receive a slip; take the slip to the taxi stand outside.
4. Hand the slip to your driver — no further payment needed (tip optional).

Typical fares: South Mumbai (Colaba, CST) ₹700–900; Bandra ₹400–500; Juhu ₹300–400. These are approx 3–5x cheaper than Delhi/Bangalore airport taxis.

Uber and Ola both operate at BOM. They're slightly cheaper than prepaid taxis and offer cashless payment. Pick up from the designated rideshare zone in the basement/parking level of Terminal 2.

• Uber Go/Ola Mini to Bandra: ₹350–500 (~$4–6)
• Uber to South Mumbai / Colaba: ₹600–800 (~$7–10) — expect heavy traffic via the sealink

Traffic tip: Mumbai's traffic is notorious. The Eastern Express Highway (to South Mumbai) can add 30–45 min during rush hour (08:00–11:00 and 17:00–21:00). Plan accordingly.

The airport is not directly connected to a Metro station, but Andheri Metro Station is a short auto-rickshaw ride (~10 min, ₹50–80) from the terminal. From there, the Metro Line 1 runs east–west across the suburbs.
