Taxis at Changi Airport are found in the basement (Arrival Hall B1) of each terminal — T1, T2, T3, and T4. Follow the green Taxi signs after clearing customs. Queues are orderly and managed by airport staff, so no pre-booking is needed. Never accept rides from touts inside the terminal.

Changi puts a taxi to the city at S$25–45, all metered. On top of the meter: the Changi Airport surcharge (S$8 from 5pm to before midnight, S$6 at other times), 50% from midnight to 5.59am, 25% in peak hours, and S$3 for the City Area from 5pm to before midnight (LTA, last updated 10 November 2025).

Grab from Changi Airport

Grab and other ride-hailing apps show the price in the app before you book. Changi suggests a taxi, private transfer or ride-hailing car for addresses outside the central area or if you have several bags.

Only board taxis from the official queue at the basement taxi stand — never follow touts.
Ensure the driver turns on the meter at the start. If they refuse, decline the ride.
The Changi Airport surcharge (S$6, or S$8 from 5pm to before midnight) is legitimate, as are LTA's midnight, peak-hour and City Area surcharges.
Use Grab for a fixed, transparent price if you prefer no meter uncertainty.
Pay in Singapore dollars only. Card payment is available in most taxis.
