KMG (Changshui) is 25km NE of Kunming centre — one of China's biggest but least crowded international airports. Metro Line 6 (opened 2020) is direct + cheap CNY 5-10. Kunming is Yunnan Province capital + gateway to Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La. City itself: Spring City nickname (year-round mild weather). For 6h layovers: Green Lake + Golden Horse arches + noodles. For 24h: Stone Forest day-trip. Yunnan is one of China's most culturally-diverse provinces.
