Getting there
Ísafjörður Airport (IFJ) has domestic flights from Reykjavík (40 min). Or drive 5-6h via Route 60 + ferry from Stykkishólmur (2h 45m). Long drive on unpaved roads.
Getting around
Rent a 4WD essential. Many roads are unpaved gravel + closed in winter. Fly Reykjavík-Ísafjörður + rent car locally as alternative.
June-August (mountain roads accessible + wildlife). Many roads closed October-May.
