Joby Aviation
Joby holds a six-year exclusive agreement with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to operate air taxis in Dubai. Its aircraft carries a pilot and four passengers.

Joby flew its first point-to-point flight in the UAE on 9 November 2025: 17 minutes from its Margham test site to Al Maktoum International Airport. It named vertiport sites at Dubai Mall, Atlantis The Royal and American University in Dubai, and said commercial service would launch in 2026.

A vertiport next to Dubai International Airport, built by Skyports with the RTA, reached technical completion on 16 April 2026. It has two take-off and landing pads and is designed for up to 170,000 passengers a year. The UAE's aviation authority said it expected to finish certifying air taxis by the third quarter of 2026.

Archer Aviation
In March 2024 Archer said it planned to fly between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, from vertiports at the Falcon Heliport at Atlantis, The Palm, and the Marina Mall heliport on Abu Dhabi's Corniche, and that the flight would take 30 minutes against a two-hour drive at peak times.

Archer's Midnight aircraft first flew in the UAE at Al Bateen Executive Airport, Abu Dhabi, on 2 July 2025. Abu Dhabi Aviation is its launch partner in the emirate.

In May 2026 the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority moved Midnight into its Restricted Type Certificate programme, which allows limited operations before full certification.
