Budapest thermal baths: which bath, which ticket and what it costs

Széchenyi is the one to book first. Gellért closed on 1 October 2025 and plans to reopen in 2028, so older advice that sends you there is out of date. Note the age rule too: Széchenyi no longer admits under-14s.

  • Széchenyi daily ticket: From 13,200 Ft
  • Fast track: From 15,200 Ft, online only
  • Minimum age: 14 at Széchenyi

Széchenyi Spa full-day entry

  • A towel for the saunas: bare skin and swimwear must not touch the benches.
  • Your child's passport or ID if they look close to 14. Under-14s need a specialist's medical certificate, and that applies to the outdoor pools too.
  • A card for the ticket machines at the Bath entrance. For cash, use the ticket offices at the Steam entrance by the metro.

Getting there from the airport

The bath suggests the Millennium Underground (M1). There is no bath car park, and nearby street parking has a three-hour limit. For the trip in from the airport, use the transfer and transport guides below.
