Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) is 40 km north of central Stockholm — 40-50 minutes by road, longer in winter conditions. The Arlanda Express train is the fastest option (18 min, SEK 320 one-way) but is one of the most expensive airport trains in Europe. The Flygbussarna airport coach (SEK 119) is 45 min direct to Cityterminalen. Pre-booked transfers are competitive for groups, late-night arrivals, or hotels outside the centre.

Arlanda Express (SEK 320, 18 min) is the fastest way from ARN to Stockholm C — every 10-15 min. From Stockholm C onwards you need T-bana metro or taxi to most hotels (10-20 min). Pre-booked transfer is 40-50 min door-to-door. For solo + central hotel: Express. For families + heavy luggage + hotels in Södermalm or Östermalm: transfer.
