FAQ

Train or bus from Krakow airport?+

Train (KML) if speed matters + you're going to central Krakow — PLN 22, 20 minutes, direct to main station. Bus 252 if budget matters — PLN 6, 40 minutes. Bus is 4x cheaper but 2x slower. For most tourists heading to Old Town, the train is worth the extra €3-4.

How to buy Krakow airport train tickets?+

KML tickets: buy at station kiosk on airport platform (accepts card + EUR + PLN), from vending machine, or via KolejePlus app. No paper tickets required if you buy on app. Ticket check occasionally by conductor — always buy before boarding.

Late-night KRK transport?+

KML train runs 04:00-00:30. After 00:30: Bus 208 (night bus every 40-50 min) or Uber/Bolt. Krakow is safe overnight but bus 208 is bare-bones + no A/C. For groups + luggage, Uber is much better value at night (fewer competing riders, PLN 40-70 typical).

Onward to Auschwitz / Wieliczka from Krakow airport?+

Auschwitz-Birkenau: 90 min drive from KRK direct; most tours pick up from central Krakow hotels. Wieliczka Salt Mine: 30 min drive from KRK; Bus 304 from central Krakow (PLN 4). Neither offers direct airport pickup — always base yourself in central Krakow first + day-trip.
