How empty leg deals work
Why they're cheap
When a private jet is chartered one-way, it has to reposition empty. Operators list these "deadhead" legs at 50–75% off to recover fuel + crew costs.
The catch
Times are rigid — you fly when the operator needs to reposition, not when you choose. Routes are fixed too — no diversions. Cancellation possible if a paying customer charters the same route.
When to book
24–72 hours before departure is the sweet spot. Too far out and the operator hopes for a paid return; too close and the flight may already be repositioned.
